Makeup haul

Shopping for makeup is my favourite thing! I love testing new things and experimenting with products. I went shopping for some lip products and ended up with this:

Here is the list of things I got. I haven't tried all of the products yet, but I will try to keep you updated on what I love and what not so much.

1. Mac Velvet Teddy lipstick

This is the colour I wanted for the longest time. It is gorgeous everyday colour in matte finish. This is a must have in every MAC collection.

2. Beautyblender

I know I am so late on this, but this is the first time I picked up this "magical" sponge. I haven't tried it yet, but compared to my other sponges it is much softer.

3. Bourjois Air Mat Foundation

This product cought my eye and I had to have it. I tried it once and I am pretty happy with it. It gives you matte finish, but it doesn't feel heavy on your skin. This is medium coverage, but it can be built to full coverage. I have it in colour 05-Golden beige.

4. Zoeva brushes

This must be my favourite thing I picked up. I bought 3 brushes from Zoeva, which is quickly becoming one of my favourite makeup brands. I will be doing review soon. :)

5. NYX HD Studio Photogenic Finishing Powder

I got this powder mainly for "baking" technique. I saw some good reviews on it and decided to try it. This is translucent powder, which is great for setting under eye concealer and foundation. The only downfall is that it can be a little drying on your skin.

6. Maybelline Fit me Concealer

This one I bought because I need a replacement for my Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer. I got it in colour 10 - the fairest one, because I really want my under eye to be bright and highlighted.

7. Mac Lip Pencil in Nightmoth and Nice'n'Spicy

I can't leave MAC store without picking up at least one of their lip liners. They are my favourite products from them. I picked up one for everyday use (Nice'n'Spicy) and one for more vampy, fall makeup. I already tried Nightmoth and I love it. You can create so many looks using this lip pencils.

8. Sponges and nail files

This are from Primark and they were only 1.5 EUR. The quality is amazing!!! I love buying little things like that from Primark.

This sponges are great for when you are doing makeup on someone else. You can use them once, throw them away and not feel bad about it. Hygiene is so important when you are doing makeup on someone else. You can also use them for setting under eye concealer and baking technique.

This is all that I picked up. I am super happy with what I bought and can't wait to do my makeup, so I can try everything out. :)

Thank you for reading,

Triangle of light

This is one of the coolest tricks I've learned in months and I really want to share this, because it makes such a big difference!

What is the "triangle of light"? It is the first thing we see when we look at somebody and it is also the vocal point of our face. This is the place where our eyes are focused at when we are looking or talking to somebody.

This imaginary triangle goes from tale of you eyebrows down to the cupid's bow (the highest place of your lips).

Now that we know what part of our face gets most of the attention we have to think about enhancing this parts and making them stand out.

The whole point of this triangle is to explain how important highlighting is. When we highlight our face we make highlighted parts stand out. We all know that white colour makes things brighter, bigger and more noticeable, right? :)

This part of your face should be a little lighter that the rest. This will add light to your face. That way your eyeshadow and lashes will stand out even more.

To do that try using concealer that is 2 or 3 shades lighter than your skin colour or your foundation and apply it under your eyes in triangle shape to hide any dark circles. This part is my favourite and it makes the biggest difference!

Continue with appling concealer on the bridge of your nose, centre of forehead and under brow bone. Finish it with loumanizer, which you should apply on the top of your cheek bone, cupid's bow, on your brow bone and in the corner of your eyes.

I know this sound complicated, so check it out on the picture below.

Second most important thing in this imaginary "triangle" are brows, which are framing our entire face. Try finding shape and colour that suits you.

Remember: makeup is illuison and it is about making your face balanced. Brows, lips, eyes, cheeks...everything should be cohesive, so don't make your brows focus point and be sure to match them to your face shape.

My picks for concealers:

• Mac Pro Longwear Concealer
• Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer (get it here)
• Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer (this one is the best drugstore concealer I have ever tried! get it here or in every drugstore)

Thank you for reading and let me know about your favourite concealers and highlighters, I am always on a hunt for new ones :)

Matte lips

I get questions about what I am wearing on my lips all the time! And most of the time my answer is the same. So I wanted to share that and at the same time make a quick review about my favourite lip product of all time.

I am talking about Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks. I have never find anything that even compares to this.

Left to right: 07 Nude-ist / 05 Ole flamingo / 03 Hot pepper / 08 Grand cru

I only own this colours, but there are a total of 10 colors (not all of them are available in Slovenia, so I suggest ordering them online. Buy them here).

Since this are liquid lipstick they apply like a gloss, but in reality they have consistency of a lipstick. This are matt finish and the only downfall is that they can be drying on your lips. To prevent that use them with lip balm or lip gloss.

I am all about matte finish for fall so this are perfect!

The best thing about them is that you don't need to keep them in your purse and reapplying them. They last all day and they are perfect for nights out! :)

1. Nude-ist: I am wearing it on picture above and as you can see it is not true nude colour, because it has a little pink tone to it, which I love. This is perfect everyday colour and it suits every shin tone. If you can only chose one, I suggest picking this one.

2. Ole flamingo: Very vibrant pink color with red undertone. This is the first one I picked up and it is still one of my favourites.

3. Hot pepper: This one is bright red colour with a hint of orange.  It makes my teeth extremely white looking. Pair it with winged eyeliner for night out.

4. Grand cru: Very dark, almost vampy looking red, which is perfect for fall makeup. It looks good with simple or dark smokey eyes.  Pair this one with lip liner in similar colour.

Hope this helps :)
